When I received the Alpha verison of Tiger Woods 99, I hurried up and installed the game as quickly as possible. Once I was done, well let me tell you this, the graphics are stunning, as one would expect from EA Sports' products. Click on the screen shot to the left of this to see what I'm talking about. I was a bit disappointed with the 2D trees though.

So you are a first timer when it comes to golf games? That's what the practice mode in the game is for. You can pick the holes you would like to practice on, pick the weather conditions and also change the conditions of the green or even the rough.

Whack! When I drove the ball to the green, I was stunned. To my surprise, there were spectators! It's nice to see fans out there to watch you embar.ass yourself after taking 3 putts to make a ten feet putt. For some reason I had a sudden urge to try to hit one of the on-lookers. I was trying to get a 'ouch' or 'that hurts' from them. When I was around maybe 50 feet away from the group of people, I aimed it like 45 feet and it landed maybe 8 feet away. Unfortunately, the group of people disappeared! I couldn't hit them! Oh, well, not too important of a feature...but it sure would have been fun!

Tiger Woods 99 also includes a mini window that lets you see where you are aiming the ball. Not many games include this option. I could also change the camera position.

Tiger Woods 99 includes nine gameplay options: practice, stroke, tournament, The Skins Game™, shoot-out, match play, foursomes, fourball, and driving range. You can also save your game/tournament that is in progress in case you have business to take care of. Reportedly it will be playable on the Internet. We will have to wait till the game is finished to find out if it's really playable or not.
