high heat 2001 pc Freezing

Has anybody had the problem where there game freezes. I have played two games and one went perfect, but the other one froze and I had to turn off my computer to fix the problem. The game is great, very realistic, but why did it freeze. My pc is much higher than the min requirements, so what gives? Was this just a fluke?
