SGN's Holiday Guide 1999

Unsure of what games to buy? Don't want to read the reviews? Well, we knew some of you would be unsure what to buy and don't have the time to read the reviews for all of the games. We at SGN put together a holiday guide which includes our Top 5 sports videogames for each system on the market this holiday shopping season.

Top 5 PC Sports Titles
Top 5 Dreamcast Sports Titles
Top 5 Playstation Sports Titles
Top 5 Nintendo 64 Sports Titles

1. Madden 2000 (PSX)
Madden 2000 is a deep, immersive, smart, challenging, and, most importantly, fun game. EA Sports has created one of the best and most complete sports games ever released. Like its PC counterpart, Madden 2000's replay value is unmatched by any sports PSX titles out there.
2. Knockout Kings 2000 (PSX)
This game is a great update to last year's solid title. With improvements to features, presentation, and gameplay, it's easily the best boxing game on the market right now.
3. Driver (PSX)
Driver combines a fresh concept, multiple modes of play, immersive sound and visuals, and superb control into a game that is immensely fun to play.
4. NBA Live 2000 (PSX)
NBA Live 2000 does virtually everything right, or at least exceptionally well. There are no game play killing bugs to be found, and there are so many things to do within the game itself that it is hard to really criticize the game in a serious way. So hoops fans can rejoice; EA has finally delivered on all of the promise they have shown the past few years. This is a first-rate sports game.
5. NFS High Stakes/SuperCross Circuit (PSX)
We couldn't decide which game deserved the number 5 slot, so we listed both. The two games are very enjoyable with their career mode.
Wildcards
A title to keep an eye out for is Sony's Gran Turismo 2 which is due out in early December. The game is expected to be received very well by the racing gamers out there. Can't wait that long? For 20 bucks, the orignal Gran Turismo is well worth the money. NASCAR 2000, V-Rally 2 : Presented by Need for Speed, SuperCross Circuit, Wipeout 3 and NCAA Football 2000 are all products that you might look into purchasing.
