SGN's Holiday Guide 1999

Unsure of what games to buy? Don't want to read the reviews? Well, we knew some of you would be unsure what to buy and don't have the time to read the reviews for all of the games. We at SGN put together a holiday guide which includes our Top 5 sports videogames for each system on the market this holiday shopping season.

Top 5 PC Sports Titles
Top 5 Dreamcast Sports Titles
Top 5 Playstation Sports Titles
Top 5 Nintendo 64 Sports Titles

1. All Star Baseball 2000 (N64)
ASB2000 feels like baseball. The graphics remain amazing (especially with the expansion pak--gamers now have a solid reason to buy it), but Acclaim is now putting out a contender in the gameplay field as well. The batting interface alone is reason enough to buy the game.
2. Madden 2000 (N64)
EA does it again with Madden 2000 as the best football game for the N64. This game would be a great gift to young kids getting into football as it features a 1 button game mode. Madden 2000 also has a nice franchise mode that will keep you pigskin gamers playing the game for a while.
3. WWF Wrestlemania (N64)
This game is easy to pick up and play. Very enjoyable multiplayer. If you are buying for a special someone who enjoys wrestling, WWF Wrestlemania is the game to get.
4. Ready 2 Rumble (N64)
Ready 2 Rumble is right for anyone looking for an easy game to pick up and some quick laugh with friends. This game lacks depth and will not keep you busy for too long.
5. NFL Blitz 2000 (N64)
Not too deep in gameplay, but easy to pick up and get right to the action. Great for young children looking for some football action, or for not-so-serious gamers just looking for a quick and dirty good time.
Wildcards
Developers have started to stop making Nintendo 64 games as they notice the future is with Dreamcast and Playstation 2. Nintendo 64 sports titles will become more harder to find as the months pass. NBA Courtside 2: Featuring Kobe Bryant is a definite title to think about purchasing. While we have not played it, one can only expect good since the same team is working on it as last year. Knockout Kings 2000, NBA Live 2000, World Driver Championship are worthy titles to consider shelling out dough for.
