For the best hockey series out there, the beat goes on. NHL 99 offers a mix of updates, upgrades, and new features for those of us looking for some hockey excitement. Ok, so the season is still a ways off, but after my Caps made a glorious run to the Stanley Cup finals I'm looking forward to next season more than ever. When an alpha showed up on my doorstep, I quickly popped it in and checked out the new look. In some cases it's too early to tell how much the new additions will change the game, but for those who are familiar I'll try to impart info on what looks good, and for those of you who haven't played the game before I'll go into some of the basic features of the NHL series.
